How to play Three Card PokerTM
Introduction Three Card PokerTM is an exciting, fast-paced game that's simple to learn and easy to master. It offers three ways to play and four ways to win. Bet on your three card outcome, or try to beat the Dealer, or play both ways at the same time. Give it a try and you'll see why Three Card Poker is the world's fastest growing Casino game. [ top ] How to Play Start by placing a wager. You can choose to place a Pair Plus wager, an Ante wager, or both. (See How to Wager for more details.) After you have completed your initial wagering, click the DEAL button. Both you and the Dealer receive three cards. All three of your cards are dealt face up unless the "Squeeze" feature is enabled. (See Other Controls for more details about Squeeze.) All three of the Dealer's cards are dealt face down. If you have placed an Ante wager, you must now decide whether to Play your hand and challenge the Dealer, or whether to Fold your hand. If you click the PLAY button or click the Play wager spot on the table, you place a wager equal to your Ante on the Play wager spot. The Dealer's cards are revealed and compared against yours. Any Ante Bonus or Pair Plus awards are paid at this point. If you click the FOLD button, you forfeit your Ante, you forgo any Pairs Plus or Ante Bonus awards, and end that game. If you have only placed a Pair Plus wager, your hand is evaluated and compared against the Pair Plus pay table as soon as your hand is revealed. The Dealer's hand is also revealed, but cannot affect your Pair Plus outcome. [ top ] Other Controls The Squeeze button, located near the upper left corner of the play field, increases the excitement by causing your cards to be dealt face down, rather than revealing them automatically. You turn your own cards over, one at a time in any order, by clicking them. This does not change the method of play or the rules of the game. When Squeeze is on, the button is highlighted in red. You can turn the Squeeze feature on or off by clicking the Squeeze button. The TURBO button quickens the pace of play by eliminating certain animations, such as the dealing of the cards. It does not change the method of play or the rules of the game. When Turbo is on, the button is highlighted in red. You can turn the Turbo feature on or off by clicking the TURBO button. [ top ] Playing Against the Dealer If you make an Ante wager and choose to Play against the Dealer by placing a Play wager, then the Dealer's hand is revealed and examined. The Dealer needs to have a Queen or higher Poker outcome to play in a head-to-head comparison against your hand. If the Dealer does not play, you win 1 to 1 on your Ante wager and your Play wager is returned. This payout occurs whether or not your hand is actually better than the Dealer's. If the Dealer plays, the best hand wins. If the Dealer has the best hand, the Dealer wins and your Ante and Play wagers are not returned. If you have the best hand, you win 1 to 1 on your Ante wager and you win 1 to 1 on your Play wager. If the hands match exactly (a tie), the hands stand and your Ante and Play wagers are returned. (See Comparing Poker Hands for more details on how best hand is determined.) [ top ] Ante Bonus To be eligible for the Ante Bonus award, you must place an Ante wager before the cards are dealt, and place a Play wager before the Dealer's hand is revealed. After the deal, your hand is evaluated, and if it merits an award, you are paid according to the Ante Bonus pay table. If you choose to Fold, you forgo any Ante Bonus award. The Ante Bonus awards are independent of the Dealer's hand. The Dealer does not need to play, nor does the Dealer’s hand need to be lower than your hand, for you to win an Ante Bonus award. [ top ] Pair Plus To be eligible for a Pair Plus award, you must place a Pair Plus wager before the cards are dealt. After the deal, your hand is evaluated, and if you hold a Pair or better, you are paid according to the Pair Plus pay table. You are not required to place an Ante wager to make a Pair Plus wager. However, if you have placed an Ante wager in addition to the Pair Plus wager, you must also place a Play wager to be eligible for a Pair Plus award. If you choose to Fold, you forgo any Pair Plus award. The Pair Plus awards are independent of the Dealer's hand. The Dealer does not need to play, nor does the Dealer’s hand need to be lower than your hand, for you to win a Pair Plus award. [ top ] How To Wager To play Three Card Poker, you must place either a Pair Plus wager, an Ante wager, or both. Select a chip value by clicking a chip at the bottom of the playing field. The chip you select is displayed in a raised position. To place your wager, click the appropriate bet spot on the table. Each time you click, you place one chip on the table. Each wager must be at least as large as the table minimum limit and cannot exceed the table maximum limit. If you choose to place an Ante wager, your remaining balance must be large enough to place a Play wager equal to your Ante wager. To remove a wager before the cards are dealt, press and hold the SHIFT key and then click the wager. To remove all wagers, click the CLEAR button. To place a Play wager to challenge the Dealer's hand, click the PLAY button or click the Play bet spot on the table. A Play wager is equal to the value of your Ante wager. If you wish to repeat your last wager after completing a game, and have sufficient credits, click the REBET button. This will restore your previous wagers. If you wish, you can adjust your Ante wager and/or your Pair Plus wager. You still need to click the DEAL button to initiate play. The DOUBLE BET button doubles your currently placed wagers every time you click it. If doubling your current wagers would exceed the table maximum limit, then the DOUBLE BET button will not be available. If you click the DOUBLE BET button when no wager is placed yet, this is equivalent to first clicking the REBET button and then the DOUBLE BET button, and will result in the placing of a wager that is twice as large as your prior wager. You still need to click the DEAL button to initiate play. [ top ] Poker Hand Rankings This list contains the possible Poker hand outcomes for Three Card Poker from highest to lowest. For two cards to have the same rank, they must have the same number (like two 8s) or the same picture (like two Queens). Straight Flush: Three cards of consecutive rank, all of the same suit. For example, 6-7-8 of Hearts. Three of a Kind: Three cards with the same rank. Straight: Three cards of consecutive rank of mixed suits. Ace can be high (as in Q-K-A) or low (as in A-2-3). Flush: Three cards of the same suit. Pair: Two cards with the same rank. High Card: Three non-matching cards. [ top ] Comparing Poker Hands If two hands have different outcomes, the hand with the outcome higher on the outcome list wins (see Poker Hand Rankings). If the two hands have the same type of outcome (for example, if both hands hold a Pair), the stronger of the outcomes wins. For Pair and Three of a Kind outcomes, the hand with the highest match rank wins. For example, a Pair of Kings beats a Pair of 10s. When comparing a Flush, Straight, or Straight Flush hands, the hand with the higher high card wins. For example, a 9-10-J Straight beats a 6-7-8 Straight. Likewise, a 9-10-J Straight beats an A-2-3 Straight because the Jack high card beats the 3 high card. If the winning outcomes are the same between two hands, the remaining cards in the hand are examined. For example, a K-3-3 beats a J-3-3 because, while the Pair matches, the remaining King beats the Jack. [ top ] Rules A new, single deck is shuffled for each hand of play. Malfunction voids all pays and play. Awards are shown in credits. Folding your hand results in forgoing any Pair Plus or Ante Bonus award.
