How to play Top Hat 21TM
Introduction Top Hat 21 is a game of blackjack in which you try to beat the dealer at accumulating a card total as close to, but not over, 21 points. To play Top Hat 21, click the Bet 1 button to bet from 1 to 10 credits, then press the Play button to start the game. If you click the BET 1 button 10 times, the game will automatically start. If you have enough credits, click the Bet Max button to bet 10 credits and automatically start the game. Or, just press the Play button right away to automatically rebet the same amount you bet the last game, and start the game. Once the cards have been dealt, you can choose to Stand with the two cards that you have, or take a Hit, and receive an additional card. You can continue to Hit until you decide to Stand, you bust (get a card total of more than 21), or you get a Six-Card Charlie (six cards that total 21 or less - pays the same as a Blackjack). In certain cases, you may also Split, Double Down, or take out Insurance. You may need to insert more money if you don't have enough credits left to place one of these additional bets. Split - Any pair may be split into two hands. Press Split to split the pair and automatically place an additional bet for the second hand; play for each hand proceeds normally, but split pairs of Aces can receive only one additional card. Double Down - When your first two cards total 10 or 11, you may press Double Down to automatically double your bet and receive one additional card. Insurance - When the dealer shows an Ace, you may choose Insurance to bet that the dealer has a Blackjack. This automatically places another bet equal to half of your original bet. If the dealer does have a Blackjack, this bet is paid 3-for-1, and your original bet is lost. If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, the Insurance bet is lost, and both hands are played out as they normally would be. [ top ] Double Up Bonus When you win in the main game, you may take your win or play Double Up. In Double Up, the dealer's card spins, and you choose either "High" or "Low." When the card stops, if you've chosen correctly, you win an amount double to the amount you bet. 2 - 7 cards are low, 9 - Aces are high, and an 8 is a push (your bet is returned). You may continue to Double Up until you click "Take Win", lose the wager, or reach the maximum number of Double Ups, which is 5. [ top ] Rules - Player Double down only possible on two card 10 or 11. Only 1 split allowed (no resplitting). Player may double-down on either / both hands of a split. If Aces split, each Ace receives only one card. The maximum number of Double-Ups is 5. Double-Up is only available on a win, not a push or a successful insurance bet. If player gets 21, regardless of the number of cards, the player must automatically stand and will be required to click the Stand button to complete the hand. Insurance, if accepted, will be at half of the initial wager, rounded down to the nearest integer. For example, for a 3 credit wager, an insurance bet will be 1 (3/2 = 1.5; rounded to 1). A player will not be offered insurance for an initial wager of 1 credit. [ top ] Rules - Dealer: Dealer must hit on 16 or less. Dealer must stand on a 17 or soft 17, or 6 cards. Dealer Blackjack causes player to immediately lose, unless player also has Blackjack, in which case it is a push. [ top ] General Rules Malfunction voids all pays and play. Awards are shown in credits [ top ] Additional Information A new, single deck is shuffled for each hand of play. The Game Console on the right side of every game provides information and access to additional features:
